लीला Līlā
Līlā creates an intersectional space where religion and queerness co-exist. Photographing people and places that have influenced my spiritual perspective and self-portraiture in drag to embody my queer identity; this project showcases my journey of self-acceptance and forgiveness and aims to create visibility for queer people who feel proximity to religion and spirituality. There are constant dehumanising political debates surrounding the validity of queer identities, frequently done in the name of religion. My work aims to combat these damaging conversations by visually merging religious and queer imagery.
